We Are Midwest Timber Bat Co.

A family business dedicated to quality, performance, and customization

The Process

At Midwest Timber Bat Company, the bats are custom made. Our company provides you with the ability to customize your bat to your exact specifications.  We do it like NOBODY else.

To begin, decide what you are looking for. We offer everything from practice or game bats, to glove mallets and bottle openers. Next, you have the option to completely customize your product. If buying a bat, you begin by picking between maple and ash. Next, you will decide if you would rather have your bat have one-color or two. You then decide how customized you would like your bat to be. You can add your own logo, stars to your barrel, and even place your own message on the bat.

No matter what you are shopping for, no company will give your bat the attention-to-detail that Midwest Timber Bat Company provides, and no company will make it customized with your colors and your logo, for your swing.

Our Owner's Story

Jason Rakers' experiences with baseball developed his passion for the game. Throughout his career he  used wood bats for practice in-season and throughout the off-season.   A true hitter understands that wood is a training tool proven to get better results. Wood bats give hitters feedback with each swing. Ask any professional hitter, they will tell you the benefits to using a wood bat for practice.

From little league to professional baseball, the game has always been a part of Jason's story. He played for the San Diego Padres. Before pro ball, he got his start at Kaskaskia Junior College and then Quincy University.  He is the all-time batting average leader at QU with a career average of .431. He was selected to his high school hall of fame as well as Kaskaskia College and Quincy University's Hall of Fame.

After his time at college, he was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 1997 MLB draft. He played  for three years professionally and was a Frontier League All-Star in 1999. Rakers retired to become a school teacher.  For years, he was a high school and junior high baseball coach.  He is currently an elementary principal in Illinois and was selected Kaskaskia Region's  Principal of the Year in 2017. He was honored in 2021 with the Illinois Principals Association top honor, the Herman Graves Award.

Colette, Aubrey and Easton also pitch in to help with the labeling and dipping process.  All three played or have been around baseball/softball their whole lives, so they enjoy the process and the smiles that come from providing a personalize bat for others.

Easton is now playing NCAA Division 1 baseball at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO.
